80 x 80 pixel size, exactly. No more, no less. Not 79x80 or 80x90 - 80x80 only. Icons MUST be in .gif format. Icons MUST center on Midway games. NO OFF TOPIC ICONS WILL BE UPLOADED. Static (non-animated) icons must be on a transparent background. Animated icons do not have to be on a transparent background, but will be accepted if they are. Animated icon background colour must be set to CCCCCC and transparent icons must have the matte set to CCCCCC. If you are unsure of how matting works, please ask for help here. Icon Background Color Codes: * Hexadecimal- 0xCCCCCC * HTML - #CCCCCC * Hue Saturation Luminosity(HSL) - H:160 * S:0 * L:192 * Red Green Blue(RGB) - R:204 * G: 204 * B:204 * Cyan Magenta Yellow Black(CMYK) - C:19 * M:15 * Y:15 * K:0 Must be less than 5k (10k for personalized admin/VIP icons) Try to avoid icons that are perfect squares or cut off some of the image. We want the icons to look nice, and we try to avoid boxy looking icons or icons that look strange because the image is cut off at a weird point. For example, if you cut the top of someone's head off, it looks silly. Avoid "assy" looking icons. Like I said above, we want the icons to look good, so try to avoid overly jaggy edges, unreadable fonts, etc. Assy basically means that an icon is unfinished in some way. Please name ALL your files in this way: catagory_name.gif. Don't spam the submission thread with multiple posts of the same icon. We see all and we know all, so if your icon didn't make the cut and it was posted before a slew of other icons that did, you should assume that it didn't fit the criteria as defined above (most likely it was "assy" looking) If you are in doubt, you can ask Sheyla why your icon was rejected, so that you can make any fixes that are needed for the next submission Don't post more than a few icons in each post and don't overload the thread with icons from the same username, we don't have a hard and fast limit, but twenty is plenty is a good rule of thumb.
VIP's and moderators can only have TWO personalized icons. Please note, ALL admin icon file names should be in LOWER case, using the following format. admin_username_UID-1.gif admin_username_UID-2.gif I.E., Southern's two icons would be: admin_southern_20749-1.gif admin_southern_20749-2.gif Then, if you want to upload a NEW icon, you would simply give it the same name as the (old) one that you no longer wanted to use. Please save your icons with this naming convention so that when we do a SAVE AS in the submission thread, we don't have to spend additional time looking up your UID, checking if you've used capitals or not and renaming the icons to save them in this format. Also double check that you are using underscores and hyphens as directed above. To make certain that the correct icon is copied over, please include a link to it in your submission. Thanks!

1. Making sure icons are not jagged 2. Making sure icons are not too boxy 3. Making sure that icons are not too assy 4. Make sure that icon transparency always works. Gif backgrounds should always be transparent unless the icon is animated, you never know when the system will suddenly get a facelift.... Extra Special Note: The web server housing your icon at time of submission must allow us to see the icon[s] within the thread. No Red X's please.
The following image shows some rough examples of which icon types will and won't be accepted for submission.
