Penthouse level: Is it possible to get these cranes?

In the second level of the Penthouse that starts with Tequila coming out of the elevator and looking up a staircase to see Vlad shooting down at you, there are a few cranes that I can't seem to figure out how to get to them.
At the start of the level, when Vlad backs off take out the shooter to Vlads left, run up the stairs to take out another shooter while Vlad backs off down another set of stairs.
Before you dive over or banister walk past a horizontal laser line, turn around and look over the balcony (see First pic), there is a purple crane there. Even when standing on the banister, you can't dive over.
Dive over or banister walk past the horizontal laser line, but instead of going down the stairs, turn to the left (see Second pic), there are 2 cranes sitting along the top circular structure with the pathway to it blocked by vertical laser lines.
You can get to the area underneath the circular structure by the time you get to the end of the level (there is a gap in the lasers or dive through an opening, do this before going around the last corner to follow Vlad), but there doesn't seem to be anyway to get the cranes.
So is it possible to get these cranes? Or have they been put there just to tease us??

they dont put them in for just no reason. the first one you can get after you go up the stairs kill 2 of vlad's dudes and go over the first trip mine. he'll go down the stairs in the back and that should turn off the lasers guarding the first crane you mentioned. i was too lazy to figure out the others. happy hunting.

Yes! You're right. Once you go over the first laser, you hear the laser deactivate, go back over the laser and get to the first crane, turn to the right and you can walk over to the other structure (the circular one I mentioned). You can even play through most of the level from here (shooting from a distance) rather than actually following Vlad on the ground! Just hit Vlad with a few long range shots and precision aims to keep him moving around.
I've played through this level so many times where I'd just follow Vlads footsteps and walk around lasers, I started to think it was a "one track" type of level, I guess I was wrong! Everyone who also thinks this should give this a try.
*UPDATE*
You can play through the entire level by moving around the circular structure and the first platform. Once Vlad gets to the door that leads to the room where you take on the helicopter, go back to where that first crane was, and take out the shooter. Look down at the now open double doors. You'll see Vlad running "trying" to enter the next room, and instead of seeing the next room through the doors, you'll see all green! See here. Basically the game engine hasn't loaded any data for that room. And if you do a precision aim at Vlad, during the camera change, you'll see all green where the room should be and a bit of city skyline in the background.
I'll also add that I've got Playstation3, perhaps PC and XBox360 behave differently for the "green room" effect. Can anybody try it and see?
