I can't be sure which, but i'd guess the latter fixed the issue for me, but since the last time i've run into this error i've installed processor drivers (Athlon x2 4400) and nforce chipset drivers (6.86) for my motherboard.
If anyone on here is still running into these issues, you might try these and see if they fix it for you.
