PS3 - No blood??

So...
I have a European PS3, bought in Holland. I'm from the USA, so it's set up in English. I bought Stranglehold in Germany yesterday. I have no Parental Control configured. I see blood during cutscenes, and video sections (i.e., when you unlock Precision Aim, and Barrage).
The problem is, I see no blood during the actual game, when shooting normally, when shooting in Tequila Time, or when using Precision Aim.
I can't find a "Gore" option, or anything similar...
What's the deal? Please help.. it doesn't really feel like a John Woo movie when it's so sterile.
If this is some German sales limitation... how does the game know I'm in Germany? Are the German discs mastered without blood? That doesn't seem likely, but I guess it's possible.. in which case I need to buy another copy elsewhere.
Assistance appreciated.

Congratulation. It seems that you bought a german censored version of the game. I don't know if the PS 3 version is censored but the PC Version is.

you couldnt have bought it anywhere else, could you? Germany is WELL KNOWN for their CENSORED video games. The German version of RE4 is by far the most tame out of all the versions of that game. The American version? The most gory, by far.
So in conclusion, if you want to see blood you shouldve bought an American version.
