Hello everyone,
like many of you, I could not run Stranglehold at all. No, I was not suffering from any BSODs or black screens. My problem was, the game never started and froze on the loading screen after confirming "Start New Game (on any difficulty).
Yesterday, NVidia released new Beta Drivers for WinXP, the 163.76ers. However, those did the trick for me after I was looking forward to basicly any new driver since Stranglehold's release. The game now runs flawlessly, for the first time ever.
Thought I share this info with you. Maybe it helps the one or other person.
My specs are :
- OS : Windows XP Professional 32Bit /w SP2
- Mainboard : Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe (Bios 1203)
- CPU : AMD Athlon64 X2 5600+
- Memory : Corsair Twin2x1024-6400c4 (2 GB DualChannel Kit)
- GFX Card (Driver) : NVidia GeForce (Leadtek) 8800 GTS 320MB (ForceWare 163.76)

Good luck to everyone trying it out !  Maybe it resolves a few other (not yet documented) issues aswell, like those BSODs and such.

Ok so I just completed this game.
Awesome, bring on the BulletProof Monk.
I did have issues with corrupted displays and system halting but managed to resolve them.
system spec.
winxp sp 2
4 gb ram
2.4tb disk
2 x 8800 gts 320mb
core2duo 6750
key cause of issues was the nvidia driver.
I had the beta driver installed but removed it and applied the lastet WHQL certified driver 6.14.11.6371.
I still had issues with display corruption and locking.
Downloaded Dx10 and reapplied. Rebooted.
Lo and behold all issued resolved. Game runs perfectly.

Just to clarify things, I have a geforce 8600GT and when i tried running the game with the old drivers i.e 163.71 or 163.75 the game got stuck on the loading screen right after selecting "New Game" from the menu, fortunately after installing 163.76 beta drivers from Nvidia everything works just fine, thanks to SonyXP for helping..

thanks sony xp i dl this new driver which is for shooter games and I can now play the game i have done a bit i just hope I can go all the way thru
it is a good game but my interest now is in kane and lynch i cant wait for that

I down loaded this driver and when I installed it - it says its not microsoft windows verrified and it may hurt my opperating system. Is this what you guys got? or no?

yes, i got that mess. (have nVidia GeForce Go 7600 though).
just continue to install, it should work.
