As long as we PS3 users have to wait until the end of october to play your game we may as well get something for waiting right?
How much work would it be to add splitscreen multiplayer? I'm sure that I dont have to mention that it would extend the replayability.....

they're not siting on their hands while you wait.
if you want to add something that isn't already there... then you'd only have to wait LONGER.

Exactly. They work pretty much year round. And now there's *almost* (I know we gotta allow some time for publishing of the discs and shipping) a whole month before Stranglehold PS3 is released.... why not do something with the code instead of just letting it sit there?
Maybe it's just me but if it gets delayed one more time (and if we dont get anything extra, at least then I could understand) then I'm just gonna pass altogether.

Only with the Collector's Edition. Needless to say there is only a *limited* amount published.

erikguy1, I think you have some misunderstandings about Midway, what they're doing, and why a game is delayed.
When a company develops/publishes a game on multiple platforms, it's ideal that it's released on all of them at the same time. That way, nobody is left out and all the marketing hype and buzz is applicable to a larger number of potential customers. Of course, things don't always pan out this way and certain versions of games (like Stranglehold on the PS3) get delayed.
In regards to the delay itself, it could be for a number of reasons. More than likely, it has to do with extra time needed to get the game "right" on the PS3. DiRT from Codemasters was another game that fell into this sort of predicament. The Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game were released quite a bit ago, while the PS3 version has just recently seen a release. It's probably safe to say that the Xbox 360 was the "lead platform" for Stranglehold, with the other versions (PC and PS3) being based off of it. For some reason, it seems that Xbox 360 and PC versions of games aren't so hard to synchronize, while PS3 versions of games take a bit longer. I'm starting to see this as somewhat of a trend as far as multi-platform releases are concerned.
As for what Midway are doing in the meantime, I'd guess that they are testing the PS3 version for bugs and other potential issues. Which brings us to why you won't see added features. The whole point of delaying the game is to fully implement and test the base product. The developers are not going to add more features, particularly not in such a short span of time. Bear in mind they would not only need to implement these features, but test them properly as well. How would you feel if the PS3 edition came with an extra feature that you wanted, but it was not thoroughly tested and somewhat (or totally) broken when you bought the game? Doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun to me.
Rest assured, Midway is not simply sitting on the code. Yes, they're not adding anything to it but this is for good reason. The developer has to start with a certain cut-off point of features that are desired in the game. Adding more while attempting to test only complicates the process and insures more delays. I'm positive that's not what you or any other PS3 owner waiting for Stranglehold wants.
