Ive just registered on to this forum just to say, amongst all the negative criticism I have been reading here ......... You guys have created one of the BEST PC GAMES EVER!!! This game is truly amazing from every aspect and I want to applaud you guys for making a unique experience amongst all PC games out right now. Although the game is short, it is sure one hell of a ride!! It is definetely worth every cent I paid for. Keep up the good work guys and I look forward to, hopefully, a Stranglehold 2!!!!!!!!

the problem with the thread is... it's a "slap in the face" to all those having problems.
it makes is sound like the game is "perfect" and everyone else is "imagining their problems."
i've managed to play the game up to somewhere in the middle of Chapter 5... with ONE BSOD (in the middle of Chapter 1) since installing the game. I don't know if it's a game problem, or my CPU (since the only time my CPU fan runs slow is at start up, otherwise its on FULL speed and loud).
another problem with this thread is... it is basically BAIT for all those people to cause problems on the forums.

It is not the best game ever but it is one of the Funest games ever. Fear was better in many ways but the sheer fun factor of Stanglehold makes it great.

Well the trouble on the forums wont last long because if you do, the report button can be used to notify the mods of it and can cause those troublemakers to be eventually banned.

Don't point that out! if someone decided that they didn't like someone they could get multiple people to hit that button and get someone unjustly banned.

Uh..yeah.
Because the mods are just that stupid, to ban someone that isn't doing anything wrong, just because people report them all the time. We'd never actually take a LOOK at what was being reported, and act accordingly....

How so? Forums aren't just for people to report the issues they're having with a game. It's to report good experiences as well. I see no problem with what the OP posted. In fact, it's nice to see that someone is having a similarly good experience as what I've had. If you were simply going by the forums, you'd think that there is something significantly wrong. I'm sure user experiences in general (ie; all people who have purchased / played the game) are not that skewed.

Where does he ever say that? For all we know, he could have very well had a "perfect" experience from begining to end. To be honest, I've had very good experiences on two different PCs with Stranglehold. Even if he did explicitly state what you're implying, I might also be in a position to wonder what everybody is talking about regarding problems. However, I understand the nature of PC gaming. What works fine for one person may be extremely problematic for another. That's why I try to offer a helping hand where I can because I know what that frustration is like.

No more so than a problem/issue thread that someone could troll in stating "OMG WUT R U GUYZ TALKIN BOUT TEH GAEM WURKS FINE FOR /MEH!!1" Ignorance and being mean spirited works both ways. Even when I'm having problems, I typically like to see the "great experience" threads pop up. It tells me that the game does run fine on at least one configuaration. It also gives me the opportunity to potentially question the individual as to what hardware he/she has as well as in-game settings, other software, etc.

you're right, it is ALSO a forum for good news/experiences. it's just rare to see it, since most people that don't have problems, just don't post that.
as for me... since i installed the game i've had one BSOD (which caused an automatic reboot)... and at some other point, i had to task kill it... but that second one was my fault (i guess), since i alt-tabbed out. i should've remembered that the demo did the same thing (not respond too kindly to alt-tabbing).
that BSOD was in the middle of Chapter 1... and i've now finished chapter 5 (museum). sure i could probably finish the game in one sitting... but i usually end up playing late at night, so i don't actually have the time. so i play a chapter at a time. actually, the day i got it (waiting on delivery), was the day it BSOD'd and i played until chapter 3.
on the flip side, and sorta continuating my earlier post... some people take things the wrong way. really, i've seen people with problems (or so they say) claim that those without are conspiring with the company.
although there are times i have problems with games, it's either patched rather quickly, or something unrelated. like Winblinds causing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory to constantly BSOD and CTD. once i killed winblinds, those BSODs and CTDs stopped occuring.

Im really flattered that all you guys seem to talk alot in this thread as it is the first one I have ever made. The reason I set up this thread is because it seems all people seem to talk about on this forum is how it dosent work on their computer or it is a bad game because of glitches etc. I for one think this is a fantastic game and want to let the developers know that they have created a true masterpiece. This is a forum and yes, people can express their bad experiences with this game, but people should also good experinces and this is what this thread is all about.

I'm new to these boards and I have to say that Stranglehold is a kick ass game. I don't think I've had as much fun blowing stuff up. I have to say kudos to the developers for making a hell of a game. Good story, good acting(gotta love Chow Yun-Fat), and easy to get into. This is my action game of the year.
