PS3 Release date?!

It keeps changing! I called Gamestop (the store I pre-ordered the CE from) last Sunday and they told me that the release date was changed to September 25th. I thought, "No big deal. I'll have to wait an extra week." Now, I checked their website (and other online retailers) and they all say that the release date is October 29th. What's going on here? I patiently waited for the PS3 release for 3 extra weeks from it's original date and now I have to wait one more month?!
Can anyone confirm or deny this? I may have to freeze myself in snow and have someone thaw me out the day before it's release. I've waited long enough! I hope that Midway didn't change the release because Halo 3 is coming out this week too. HALO 3 BE DAMNED!

Can we get a confirmation on this and maybe an explanation as to why this keeps getting pushed back.
I'm usually very patient but this is getting ridiculous. Pushing it back a couple days before the all ready pushed back release is just jerking us around.

Hello out there, how about an announcement about the PS3 delay?
If you go to Stranglehold website and click on news, it says Available now!! and thats it. Which is obviously not true for the PS3. So how about just posting something so people that have laid out their cash already aren't left in the dark.
Your doing a really bad job if you want people to buy Midway games in the future.

most games for the PS3 get delayed for months at a time. hell, the PS3 got rainbow 6 vegas 7-8 months after the 360, and 5 months after the 360. i havnt boughten a PS3 yet, but if i did the only games i think that would be worth buying on it would be the exclusives. the rest of teh games i want i'd get on the 360. you'd be better off getting the PC version (unless it was delayed as well) or 360 version if you have a 360 (im assuming you dont)
PS3 owner's should be ust to delays by now lol

come on man. both of us know game maker or making 360 games Quicker than PS3 games. if a PS3 game start to get ahead of 360 they delay it. Resident Evil 5 release date got changed becuse of it. the 360 version was moving slow so they delay it a whole year. so me or you don't get it til 2009. I think samebody is looking out for the 360 first name bill.

then what do you say about Epic's plan on releasing UT3 on the PS3... while not even announcing when/IF the XBox360 will get the game?!?

they haven't announced that other than "they hope".
that is exactly my point... you claim everyone is slowing down the other console versions to wait for XBox360 versions... yet i presented a fairly big example of a developer that is opposite of your arguement. they're releasing a PC and PS3 (scratch that) version sometime in November (hopefully)... and XBox360 sometime in 2008 (maybe).
btw, is it really that important to post a second message only to quote (and correct) the first?

Not sure if you guys have already seen it, but I thought you might find this interesting regarding the Stranglehold PS3 delays. There is some information about the also delayed Blacksite: Area 51, and a small mention about Unreal Tournament 3 as well. David Zucker is the President and CEO of Midway and the comments quoted were during a recent investor conference call.
In the conference call, Zucker blamed the PS3 BlackSite and Stranglehold delays on problems stemming from getting the Unreal Engine 3 up and running on Sony's console. Both will arrive before Epic Games' PS3 debut, which had been prominently promoted as being exclusive to Sony's console and the PC during the 2007 holiday shopping season.
Regardless, Zucker said the problems with the engine and the platform have been dealt with, and Midway expects its 2008 PS3 titles to ship day and date with their Xbox 360 counterparts. However, he noted that the two games would still be shipping before Epic Games' own debut PS3 Unreal Engine 3 game.

Stranglehold is going to be Good, when it come out for PS3. My brother got it for 360. and he loves calling me up and talking about it. GOD I HATE HIM!!
