Reading about the XB360 CE bonus disc with all the "making of" type video, is there any way to extract/rip or view the videos on a PC without the need for a XB360 console?

The reason I ask is that the XB360 version is out now but I'm hanging out for the PS3 version. The XB360 CE may be worth getting while I can for the bonus videos, but only if it's possible to view all/some without an actual XB360.

how much is the CE, $70?

you really think it would be worth it to pay $70 just for the "bonus" content, and NOT use it to play the game?

i mean, most of the cost is for the game... and to not play it? seems like a waste of $$$.

Not a waste at all, I'd be very interested to see the bonus content because I'm a big John Woo & Chow Yun Fat fan. And there is always ebay when I'm done with it.

Hi,

I have the collectors for the 360 in the UK and yes you can use it on any DVD player, including a PC to watch the bonus features.

Yep, the bonus disc is just a normal DVD and can be played in any DVD player.

Wow, I want your disposable income.

Anyway, since it's just a DVD, I would wait until you can buy it from Gamestop preowned, watch (or copy) the bonus DVD, then return it.

Now that is excellent news! cool
EB Games have a 7-day return policy, so I'm gonna run out tomorrow and grab a copy.

Thanks for the info. happy

ic... so instead of "wasting" money... you're just going to ripoff EBGames by buying it, watching/copying the bonus content and then returning it?

that's what it sounds like with the return policy comment.

Actually they call it the "7 day game trial period", and it's not ripping them off when it's thier policy. It's really no different to buying a game, not liking it, and then returning it within 7 days. I've done it before no problems in the past with a few games that turned out to be disapointing.

but you are obviously intending on buying it to watch videos that are supposed to be exclusive to the XBox360. videos once watch can't be "unwatched"... unless you watch only a few seconds... which would then be equivalent to "trying out" a game for a few minutes to see if you like the game.

their policy is for those that have make a genuine mistake in buying the game.

btw... if you REALLY want the videos FOR FREE... you can do it the LEGAL way... wait for it to be uploaded on to the "intarweb." edit* it's a little more legal, anyway.

If that was the case it be called the "Few minutes game trial period". In any case what's the difference to EBGames (or any other store that may have a similiar policy) if you play just a few minutes, or a couple of hours, or 6 days non-stop, or in my case not at all?

Who ever said I wanted them for FREE?

the difference is, EBGames hopes that you won't play through the entire game before returning it.

getting it for free is what you're doing if you return it after watching it.

How does this "hope" justify a difference? The validity of the policy is in no way measured by the actual playing time spent. Besides, how are you expected to prove that you did or didn't play a game (or watch a video) all the way through or in part? Simple..... you can't.

Look, our dispute about the EB Games policy is a pointless argument. EB Games simply would not have a policy in place that would leave them vulnerable to any losses whatsoever, therefore there is no "ripping off" occurring.

In the end, yes I get to see it for free, but that certainly wasn't my main interest. My main intent was to have the chance to view the footage. If I could purchase the DVD separately then I would happily do so, unfortunately that isn't the case. There's nothing I can do about that.

Now you've brought up the issue of legality, you may want to re-think your comment in regards to the downloading..... do the words "copyright" and "unauthorized duplication and distribution" spring to mind?
As far as legality goes, I can assure you that there is a bold difference between viewing an original DVD and downloading the unauthorized duplicated content. Having said that, it totally strikes out your claim of "little more legal".

Anyway, this discussion has gone on long enough.
My inital question/post has been answered. Can a moderator please close/lock this thread?
