I know it says it says pixel shader 3.0 is a requirement but does anyone have the game working with a graphics card that does not support 3.0 and just 2.0?

The absolute minimum requirements are as stated in quite a few threads. They are FIRM requirements and will not function on anything lesser then them.

People have played the game (and the demo) running on a system that does not fit the requirements. They are not FIRM and I was just curious if someone who has the game working has a card that only supports Pixel Shader 2.0.

how then i know someone that played the demo on a 6600?
its FIRM that they dont know what causes the game to run on some machines and on some dont...

It's true that some people have been able to play it on systems that don't meet requirements but it's mostly just luck. If the game don't run nobody is going to be able to help you'll. They'll simply point out that you don't meet the requirements.

Also, I tried to play the game on a Nvida 6800 which used Pixel Shader 3.0 and the game doesn't work.

It's kind of ridiculous that I have a Geforce 7600 GS and the game doesn't work. Doesn't that card support PS 3.0?

I know the "minimum" requirements say a 7800, but come on. That's lazy coding if it has to run on a top-end system.

According to the back of the North American retail box, the recommended requirements are an AMD Dual-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and an x1300/7800 video card. There are no minimum requirements per se, at least not according to the packaging.
