What i find retarded is on the box it says:

Windows® XP SP2 or Windows Vista™ operating system(s)
Intel® CoreTM Duo or AMD X2 Processor
2 Gigs of Ram
15 Gigs of Hard Drive space
ATI™ X1600** or Nvidia GeForce® 7800 or higher***
Online 2-6 players

for recommended system requirements, and on the box there is no "Minimum Requirments" so i figured, i should be able to play this game sice my video card is an nVidia GeForce 7600 and i have 1GB of memory... But wouldnt you know i got JIPPED! Normaly when i buy a game i check both Recommended and Minimum requirements so i will know before hand if i can play it and not WASTE $50.

So i Install the game, run it. First time around i alwase let the developer screens go by and watch the intro's. no problems. Then it gets to the loading. Waiting. 2min later, still waiting, another 2min later im still waiting. I wait around 5-10 more minutes and i get this:

Rendering thread exception:
General Protection fault!
History: Address= 0x90a75e (filename not found)
Address= 090b4db (filename not found)

so i fugure "ok, maybe the installer just messed up" and re-install.

Do all those steps again and wait 15-20min for the loading with no movment on the loading bar. So i hit ALT+TAB a nd nothing happens, so i try ESC, nothing. I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and it go's to a black screen and my moniter is flashing as if there is no signal, i cant get back to my desktop. So i reboot and try all that again for a 3rd time, this time the loading is one spot further then crashes. crashes a total of 4 times. After the 4th crash the loader is back at the 1st position. Also when ever i leave the loader there and touch nothing it gives me that error. Im going to download my latest drivers... on dialup... and try again but i dont think this will fix the problem. I want the game to work as i cant get a refund at Wallmart because they dont refund PC games do to "ease of copying".

I do profesional Functionality QA for many of the large developers, and the info for the back of the box WOULD BE BUGGED! I dont know if havok, Midway or Tiger Hill were in charge of documentation (which is not even present on the DVDs, like readme's, licence agreements not imbeded, etc) but that should be fixed and re-released before more people make the mistake of thinking what's on the box are the real "Recommended Requirements" and not the minimum ones since it clearly says "Recommended"...

Im not very happy at the moment.

@kalekophagenees: I have crysis too and it runs perfict for me, i have no clue why a game so aclamed for it's gameplay would make a mistake like this and release it then not recall.

@lothar
The specs you provided seem adequate for the game. happy The guy posting before has slightly lower specs and he's able to play ok it seems.

Characteristic techniques of my PC.

*Pentium 4 H/T 3200Ghz
*2 gigas memory
*Ati Radeon x600 with 256 mhz dedicated
*Hard disk of 160 gigas
*DirectX 9c
*S.O Windows XP Profesional
*Sound Realtek HD with drivers updated.

I desire that they help to me, I do not know if she is not much of a computer or game is defective.
I Never had no problem with the games, Call of Duty, FarCry, F.E.A.R, Medal Of Honor, GTA, Flatout, etc, they all go from wonder, but Stranglehold offers resistance.
Thanks a hug

I have a big problem by starting the game...

When I klicked on the launch button, the following things happend:

a picture with some bullet casings opens
after a while the pc opens a black fullscreen window
then the windwow closes itself and in the taskbar is runs a aplication called "StangleEngine". My cursor gets invisible. When is open my taskmanager and get the "Stangleengine" "closed" the cursor appears an all is ok. I have installed the beta driver for my Nvidia Quadro FX 1500, patch 1.1 , all without any effect.

System:
Windows Vista Business 32bit
Intel Core 2 Quad 6600
4GB ram
Nvidia Quadro FX 1500 (same chip like 7900GTX)
2x500 Gb
Resolution 1920x1200

I have a problem with the game, does not save the matches! The screen "saving" remains for a long time and nothing happens!
My PC: Xp Pro SP2 - Corel2 Q6600 2.40 Ghz, 2Gb Ram DDR3, Asus GeForce 8800 Ultra, Samsung 22''monitor 1680x1050

The game did not install it in C: \, but in E: \ and I changed the folder name of the game in E: \ My Games \ Midway \ Stranglehold (obviously in the process of installation). It can be the name of the folder the problem?

Perhaps the solution would be to load a save to complete 100% and then choose the chapters where you play the main screen.

Could you please send me by e-mail (djorkaf25@libero.it) the file savegame?

Thanks in advance.
