IS THE MINIMUM SYSTEM REQ FOR STRANGLEHOLD IS CORRECT(2GIGS OF RAM/15GB SPACE)? IF THIS IS TRUE THEN THE GAME WILL NEVER BE AS EXCEPTIONAL AS MAX PAYNE 1&2,MAFIA,BIOSHOCK.WHAT IS THIS YOU HAVE PROGRAMMERS,WHY DONT MAKE A GAME WIDELY PLAYABLE ACCROSS ALL COMPUTERS?IS THIS SOME KIND OF FUNDED PROJECT BY HARDWARE COMPANIES.MAKE A PATCH TO ACCESS THE GRAFX SETTINGS AND CUSTOMIZE IT.

That orange/green motif you've got going on in your second post is brutal on the eyes. Typing in all caps is certainly no picnic for the reader either.
The system requirements for the game are what they are. Either upgrade your system to meet or exceed them, purchase the game on a console for guaranteed compatability, or skip the game all together. There's really not too many more options than that.

I disagree with the minimum PC specs and since the game uses "unreal technology" similar to Bioshock game which uses "unreal 3 engine/modified?"
Both ran on 1024x768 res with no problems and no changes to the graphics detail, the level of detail was auto chosen by the game.
You may ask if it was smooth, and i call smooth by not lagging every x seconds and frame rate of less than about 25-30. I perfer to have the frame rate, FPS, a minimum of 30 frames
Bioshock ran on very high if i recall.
here is a screenshot
Sample from my Dxdiag.txt
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.1GHz
Card name: Radeon X1600 Series
Memory: 2048MB RAM DDR400 , Display Memory: 512.0 MB
I use windows XP as a prefered system and so far as its better IMO for a gaming platform.

I've been waiting a damn long time for this game. And when I got it, it didn't work. Black screen, black screen. My spech was. Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS, 1,0 GB Ram, and AMD 64 2,24 GHZ. Today, I bought 1,0 more GB RAM and I tried the game and believe it or not, but it actually work, very good
The Game is pretty cool too Like it and it looks lite it would be a few playing times tomorrow

Hi!
for all you guys out there with a Black/Blue Screen/Nvidia infinite loop error i maybe got a solution.
First my spec doesn't meet the minimum spec. but i'm currently running Stranglehold on the following setup:
AMD Athlon 3000+
ASUS A7N8X-X
EVGA Geforce 7800GS
1,2 GB RAM
Windows XP Prof
As many other people i only got a Black Screen after loading the first level in Stranglehold. But the strange thing was unter Windows Vista i could play stranglehold on the same PC. But it didnt run very smooth under vista so i tried these two things and then it also run under Win XP:
I loaded Driver Cleaner Pro and uninstalled my mobo an the graphics card driver, booted in safe mode an used Driver Cleaner Pro to completely remove the drivers. also my old ati drivers from my previus ATI card. At this time i only had 1GB ram so i thought i could install some more because i read that some people solved the issue with more ram. So i installed 256MB ram. i booted in normal mode installed a remixed driver for my mobo (nforce 2: Link) and the latest graphics card driver (Forceware 163.71) and voila... Stranglehold runned very smooth under Windows XP...
do not exactly know if it's the additional ram or the driver reinstallation but i just thought you should know that and try this for yourself...
tomorrow i will test it with my old config (1GB RAM) so i can say if it has something to do with the RAM but i think thats very strange if it only worked cause i installed additional 256MB of ram... anyway...
kind regards
Zabrajin

As Pc Gaming enthusiast I am bitterly dissapointed by the lack of interest by midway to support a game they will happily sell for £30 and make a lot of profit on.
My computer is of a very good spec and can handle all games that are new bioshock is fantastic along with quake wars. I was really looking forward to Area 51 Blacksite but now I am inclined to delay in case the same happens to this as it did stranglehold.
I have installed my latest driver for my nvidia 8800 gts oc and i get please insert original disc of stranglehold? What!? Original what is that in my machine if it is not the original? Before this the game crashed on the load of a new game even after changing the resolution as recomended.
This is the only game I hace ever had grief on and I hope it is the last. I am even inclined to send this disc back to midway and demand a replacement version for my Xbox 360 no doubt they will keep the game and I will get nothing still lesson learned. Perhaps something will be resolved however I very much doubt it.

I agree with this person 120% ^^
The next time I go game looking ill check to see if it is indeed a midway product. Most likly I will not have anymore business with them do to such a lacking in support.

I remark a lot of problems with stranglehold game and indifferent people from midway gives a **** about this issue.Somebody posted here problems with stranglehold on: intel quad core, 4 gigs of ddr2 ram, 8800 gtx video card(all drivers updated and ok!)SO SHAME ON YOU MIDWAY.THIS IS NOT A GOOD MARKETING TO LIE PEOPLE!!!All my friends have problems with this game there is no isolated events and midway don't give a **** about this, no patch nothing. So this is a way to treat your customers midway? I pay for your game and this is what i get? SHAME ON YOU LIARS!!!My friends only sistem on what stranglehold works (with lots of lags) is: core 2 duo E 6600 2.4 Ghz, 4 gigs of ddr2 dual channels, ati x 2900 xt video card......so why midway don't you tell us we need a NASA PC to run this game? NEVER PLAY A MIDWAY GAME AGAIN!

Here's my specs on my pc, i get pretty good frames.
AMD 64 3800+ 2.4Ghz
Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra-939
2GB Geil High Performance Dual Channel DDR Ram
Leadtek Geforce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 AGP 8X
Seagate IDE 120GB 8mb Cache
Windows XP Pro SP2 Latest Build Fully Updated
Forceware Drivers - 163.71
let me say this, i don't like laggy gameplay especially in 3rd person or racing games, im not getting that lagg with these specs, i guess it's the bare minimum for a smooth experience, i didn't change anything at all, all auto picked settings. i just started the game and it went fine, 1024x768. also im running the game through my old creative live 5.1 soundcard, not the 8.1 realtek sound i have on my mainboard. my desktop resolution is 1024x768.
still can't wait to upgrade to dual core and hit some geforce 8 power :P.
Basically i came to this conclusion, generic anything sux, if you are running anything generic in your pc i suggest you upgrade it to a real brandname thats recognised. for motherboards i suggest using one of these 2 brands (Asus or Gigabyte) and not the bottom of the range either, make sure at least midranged. for videocards i suggest using one of the 3 brands (Nvidia - Leadtek, Asus, Gigabyte) and (ATI - Asus, Gigabyte)
Ram i suggest one of these 3 brands (Corsair, Geil, Kingston)
i have tested stranglehold on my mates pc and he has the same cpu as me, not quite the same vidcard, (Leadtek 7300GT 256MB), but has the same amount of ram 2GB, but his is generic. also his motherboard is some brand i have never heard of b4 lol can't think of it's name either. anyways, most of the time we compare how his and my pc performs on games and nearly everytime we compare, he hasn't got as much frames as i have in all games, yes i do have a little better videocard, but not that much better. using real or should i say highy recognised products, make a difference when running games.
and i got told those guidelines when building a pc from a person who doesn't play with anything less than the best, ie he has SLI'd 8800 ultra's with 4GB corsair and the latest quadcore cpu with the most expensive gamers motherboard u can buy. and when the new stuff comes out he buys it.
Asus/Gigabyte/Leadtek/Corsair/Geil/Kingston/ RULE O.K

first off, i was able to play the game from the moment i installed it.
so, those two links are not-verified by myself.
in short, those with XP and nVidia might want to try out the new beta drivers from nVidia... 163.76.
those two and a number of people on Gamespot.com have said they are now able to play the game with those drivers.

What's up midway? We are waiting! A lot of people STILL can't play the game you used to get the money we have worked hardly for! I tried everything that you have postet here and I send you the mail with the directx diag. But still the game is a waste of gigs on my HDD! Are you working on a patch? The driver deinstall and cleanreboot method is a waste of time! We need something that fixes the problem: THE GAME! So whats up!?
