Stranglehold (PC) Demo FAQ

Changing the resolution:

The Stranglehold Demo does not include a GUI to adjust the display resolution. Midway Customer Support would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Display Settings will be available in the full retail version of Stranglehold (PC) from Settings Menu > Video Settings. In the meantime, if you would like to change the resolution on the Demo please see the instructions below:

To change the resolution, you'll need to add the following switch to the shortcut target field:

–resx=XXXX –resy=XXXX

The XXXX represents the resolution that you would like to use. See the following example:

"C:\Program Files\Midway Home Entertainment\Stranglehold Demo\Binaries\Retail-Stranglehold.exe" -language=eng -resx=1280 -resy=720

You can also start the game in Windowed Mode by adding the following switch: -windowed

Example:

"C:\Program Files\Midway Home Entertainment\Stranglehold Demo\Binaries\Retail-Stranglehold.exe" -language=eng -resx=1280 -resy=720 -windowed

To access the shortcut target field, right click on the shortcut and click on Properties. A window will appear with information about the shortcut and a target field. The switches are added to the end of the command in the target field.

Changing the keyboard layout:

The demo does not include the ability to make any keyboard control adjustments. These Keyboard/Controller Settings will be available in the full release from Settings Menu > Control Config.

Changing the audio settings:

Audio settings (Music Volume & SFC Volume) are adjusted in the Demo by using the Pause Menu (ESC key) while in the game and then selecting the Options menu. You adjust the Music & SFC Volume using the left and right arrow keys. These audio settings will be available in the full release from Settings Menu > Audio Settings. The full release audio options will include the ability to adjust the volume level of Effects, the volume level of Music, and what Audio device to use (if you have multiple installed).

Pause Menu (Demo)

The following is the complete list of adjustments that can be made in the Demo Pause Menu:

Toggle Lookspring (on/off)

I find it kind of funny that Midway posted that since right on the box it says the "recommended system hardware"

in-fact, the box doesn't even state what the minimum requirements are... Maybe Midway and them don't even know themselves since they're probably using all high tech equipment.

I can't see the game requiring 2GB of memory through, nor a dual core processor.

just because the game can utilize dual core etc. doesn't mean it's required...

Hopefully we get some answers soon.

what he said. i definitely won't go into a fight with a shop keeper who refuses to take the game back although it's not working on my high-end sys.

Maybe the moderators would be kind enough to tell us how to enable the Xbox 360 Controller support in the game.

The support page mentions it, however, the game doesn't have it. Maybe it's a command line option...
