Yes, don't need to reply like that...sure. But guess what. I'm (or was) a big fan of this game too, watched every movie, and it's very f*ing disappointing that people who has nvidia cards can't play 2 mins without crashing, or black screen, etc. My mates with ATI cards doesnt expect this problem. Nice:P

Midway! Would you mind??? Just patch or give us some bug-fixed *.dll so we can try this too with nvidia cards!?
If not, its shame on you, shame on your whole company. Atari doesn't need a flamed little brother...or does it?

hmmm i got a GeForce 7900GTX with latest driver and no probs grin

Same as many;..Black screen cycle. Forcing res does not help.
You should think, someone of Midway or Devs come here to
explain to the people which are supposed to *buy* this game,
what went wrong and what they are about to do about it. (and very quickly, if I might add)

Tried drivers:

162.18
163.44
163.67
163.69

Its definetely not the drivers, everything else latest *runs*
(and perfectly so, if I might add)

Specs:

Opt165 [2.88GHz] [WinXP SP2]
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe /S939/NForce4 (9.35 Unified Remix)
4GB G-Skill HZ (3.x useful in XP)
NVidia Geforce 8800GTS 640MB PCIe (163.69b)
Raptors (150GB/16MB cache)
Audigy 2 ZS Platinium

Ok, I know everyone is pissed. So was I...

I was having the common problem --> Rendering error. (filename not found).. or something like that. It would load past the controller layout screen, but then error out.

So, after sulking for about an hr, I updated my directX, and updated my nvidia card to 163.67.

I also then put in the resolution command line for 2048x1024.

and voila! it works.. (not only works but @ NO LAG!!!!)

Best game I've played in years.. can't wait for the full release.

my rig is:

asus M2n-SLI deluxe
AMD Dual Core 4400 (2.2 GHz)
2 x 7900 GS SLI
1.5 Gb ram (single channel)

Good luck in solving this one.. I have bets that new drivers are on their way for tomorrow (the official release).

My PC:
e6300 + 8600GT + 1gb ddr2
Demo its working great on Vista , not a single error. But i recomand at least 1.5gb.
On Windows Xp i cant get it to work properly, sometimes it freeze whyle loading, or after 1 minutes of gameplay. Sometimes i`m getting artefacts, or pc its restarting,

On XP 1gb are enough ,framerate its 40+
I will try now the latests drivers 163.69

Dont ignore posts... I gave you all answers 1 day ago. What part of "Its not your computer, its the game thats failing" did you guys not understand?

ITS NOT YOUR PC
We all know the game fucks up - you do not need to post complains or problems anymore...

Why is it so hard to let 1 user ask and then let moderators or developers give the solution. I can see why Midway does not reply - ppl ask 999999 at once...
Can you please stop posting questions and wait for an answer.

Fuckers who do not read previous posts and asks the same question 1000 ppl asked before is not worth an answer. Go fuck your self and stop make threads go OT for no reason. I´m sure the guy who first posted would like an answer as much as you do, so why post the same question again? If the thread gets to heavy read, moderators and developers dont even go thrue them.
Let one question stand and keep your system requirements to your self, its been said before - and I say it again:
ITS NOT YOUR MEMORY OR COMPUTER

Whats so hard to understand?
Ask yourself this question: "If I want an answer, do I want to find the answer in the following post - or do I want to go thrue 100posts before finding the solution?"

Public forums are hard to keep in structure - so do not make it worse.

I know I want to find my answer directly after the question.

I don´t know about you but i was very angry bacause of my great anticipation, when the demo didn´t work.

you guys really convinced me that the lack of not having 2 gb of ram isn´t the problem.......but i just hooked my pc up with another gig (in total 2 gigs now) and it works just fine.....no problems at all....

before i did that i had this rendering threat issue and now it´s gone.....

best of luck to all of you

Alright kid, reactivate your prozac drip, breathe deep and count to twenty. People attempting to solve problems, you'll one day come to learn, is not alltogether unheard of. In fact it's quite common.

Besides, you are flat wrong on a number of counts, which i'll conveniently enumerate below:

1. Midway support people don't look at these boards, they are for community support alone. You'd have noticed this stated a few different places, if you were at all observant and/or not retarded.

2. No one elected you spokesperson for every user experiencing what seems to be a pretty huge problem.

3. Were these boards seen by Midway support people or were issues discussed here brought to their attention, they would be far more inclined to ignore one user complaining about one problem, regardless of how many times he dropped the F bomb, than they would be numerous threads populated by numerous people all experiencing the same problem.

From Midway Support Customer site about Stranglehold:

Quote:

Stranglehold Known Issues

* N/A

--Edit:
(Did anyone with the black screen problem try to disable the firewall(if any active?)

Further down:

I get a black screen on launching the game/the game crashes back to the Windows desktop on launch.

First and most importantly, ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements to run the game. To do this use this PC Game System Requirements Q&A Search link which will display a list of all supported PC titles Minimum System Requirements. For more general information on a title you can select your game from Category 2 (then click "GO") to display all knowledge items for that game.

Ensure the game has access to the internet through any firewall software you are using. You can also temporarily disable your firewall software to overcome this problem.

Ensure you are using the latest drivers for the hardware on your system. For a guide to drivers and how to update them, please click here: Drivers Knowledge Item

Try running the game after a clean boot of your system as outlined here: Clean Boot Instructions Knowledge Item

So basically all the generic tech support answers. Not encouraging. I'll try disabling the firewall or adding Stranglehold as an exception, but that seems unlikely to fix anything.

If it works, i'll be sure to report my success.
