Hey, here are my specs
163.67 Drivers
XFX 8800GTX OC 650mhz 2100mhz
Q6600 OC 3.3ghz
4g PC6400 gskill
Vista 32bit
Stranglehold US demo
I'm pretty sure my computer has the specs to run this game since bioshock, airborne, monster madness etc etc ue3 games ran perfectly. Yet once the game starts all you see is a black screen and hud. All you can do is listen to yourself get shot and you die. Oh what a game! This is NOT an Nvidia problem or Windows problem...this is a midway problem. Your demo is broken, as everyone elses demo works. So um...please fix it kindly....

For those of you who have this problem with the monitor turning black and original image,the solution is simply change your desktop resolution to 1024x768 because this is the resolution in the demo...
But I also have this problem,though I usually have two outcomes:
1.The demo freezes at the control scheme
or...
2.The demo starts to work,I choose difficulty,and in the actual game,some of the objects are black and the game laggs HARD,and after a few seconds,it gets stuck...
I also had this kind of problem in Medal Of Honor Airborne,but once I've updated my drivers,everything worked fine...while no success with this one...
My friend is not having trouble running the demo and his video card is even weaker than mine and he has 1GB,like me...
My system specs.
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB of ram
nVIDIA Geforce 8600GT 256MB with Force Ware 162.18 Drivers..
Windows XP SP2 32-bit
I hope Midway(or anyone who knows how to fix this) will answer soon cause there is no way I'm buying the game until I won't be able to fix the problem,or at least post the system requirements so we could see what we need to run the game normally...

I have same problem. This is really getting ridiculous. First PC players have to wait for demo hell of a long time, and then when we have it, it doesen't even work. Just [mod edit: profanity] great job Midway. We all love you!

Same here...
Freezing while loading. But windows is still running, I'm still able to get back to the desktop. But Stranglehold Demo is still not running.
System:
WinXPSP2
Intel Core 2 Duo 6420 @ 3,2GHZ
2GB RAM
GeForce 8800GTS
Forceware 163.67 (Beta)
Do we have to wait for the next BETA driver just to play an actual game? Seems to get necessary in these days...

Okay, I just registered to let Midway know this: the release of a demo is very important in two ways. First of all, it let's the customers know how the game will perform and what to expect of the full product. And second of all, it let's the customers know how the producers deal with problems, should they occur.
So, basically you've released a demo that doesn't work for lots of people, and you don't move a muscle to resolve the issue. You don't even make contact with your customers to let them know what's going on. I don't care if it's a weekend. The release of a demo is so important, that you need to have people on standby during that phase. Why? Well, I learned from the demo that I have to expect gamestopping bug problems and very, very bad support for this game. I don't expect things to get any better with the full product. Thus, I will do without Stranglehold and not buy it. Thanks Midway, you made me save money. I'll check out some Max Payne mods instead.

I have just installed US version of demo and when I start it it turns black screen and after 2 minutes it shows movie and it's all the saim Black screen.

first try a new graphic driver.....you have to know if your card supports shader 3.0 !!!

Hi everyone, well the demo runs fine to me my specs are
Amd x2 4200
Geforce 8800 gts 640
memory 2 gigas ram
winxp sp2
sound blaster aufigy 4
strangehold us version
nvidia forceware 162.18 runs fine here and with bioshock too.
Maybe the problem is the audio try to low the aceleration.
