Just thought I'd add that the game loads up past the menus, does the cinematic of Tequila on his way to do his thing, then a black screen. I hear stuff, things are being rendered, and I can move around and shoot on account of his footsteps and the sound his bullets make when they hit walls and stuff. I can't see any of it though. I don't think it has to do with shaders 3.0 because bioshock worked fine. Drivers are up to date too...*scratches head*

Same here.
First time I started it, I didn't get to the Cinematic and the second time it crashed after the cinematic.
I also played all the latest games like Bioshock. It worked like a charm but only with the "high quality shaders" set to off, this is rather driver related. No other game or thing has ever crashed my machine before that, so I rather think its not the PCs fault.
I got C2D 6300
GF 7900GTO / 163.44
1 GB RAM
XP SP 2
I just saw that there is a 163.67
Could that one be of any help?

I'm also getting the nv4_disp problem.
I've tried installing new audio drivers, video drivers, disabling AGP fast write, but it still doesn't work.
I get the blue screen at the loading window where the controls are shown.
My system is
Intel E6600 2.4GHz
1GB DDR2 667MHz RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7950GT 512MB (Driver 162.18)
Windows XP SP2

That would be BS since most of the people only have 1GB ram...

Ever read this newspost on Kotaku?
The game's recommend—unfortunately mislabeled as the minimum specs—are available here, in case you don't feel like waiting for the download and installation to complete before finding out your PC can't handle it. For those of you itching to see what a $30 million game looks like, have at it.

Firstly, everyone who the game locks up on after Tequilla arrives at the scene will experience the same lock up if they press "ESC" during the first cinematic (the monitor powers off).
Secondly, it CAN'T have 2GB as a minimum requirement because:
1) From the PS3 demo I have, it's obvious that it looks just about the same (if not better) than the PC version and the PS3 has 256mb of ram (plus the 256mb on the GPU).
2) It doesn't look good enough to even require 1GB compared to other Unreal Engine 3 based games like Bioshock which work perfectly and look much better.
Either way, the port is crappy and the developers showed their incompetence yet again.

Hi all,
i have the same Problem... bluescreen with different failures: nv4_disp, etc
my system:
c2d e6400
2gb ddr2 800 Ram
7900gs
Asus P5B mobo
Win XP SP2 with all updates installed
I tried the "normal" and different beta driver (and some other tweaked driver) and i have still installed the newest directX and mobo drivers...
I killed the demo over the Task Manager and tried to edit the screen resolution in Windows, but it dont works, I can only change it into 640x480 and 800x600. So, I think that the demo have bad code that kills the grafik driver or something else ( i cant explain it in english)
have anybody else an workaround to get the demo running?
Greez from Germany
Zunkel
PS: i am so sorry about my bad english, please excuse it

you're right. if you kill the game with taskmgr, it rabbits up the ability to change the screen resolution. All it shows is 640x480, and 4bit color.
Gotta reboot the pc to get it back to normal.
oh boy. Midway rabitted up big time.
