I think you can get back to Goro's lair. Just find the portal back to Shang Tsung's Island and just back track the way you came. Drop down to the Pit and follow the path back to Goro's Lair. Goro won't be there, probably the Oni's will be there to fight, something to do while visiting.

Sorry man! The way I thought you could get back to Goro's Lair is blocked, I haven't played MK:SM in ages, I had to go check to recap on things. I was thinking the path that is just before the Warrior Shrine, you know, the way you come into the Wu Shi Acadamy, but it is blocked by debris. I am sure there is a way back though. There's got to be, as there were secrets you couldn't get unless you had them abilities like wall climb and double jump.

If I remember correctly from when I did it last year, it's the Fist Of Ruin ability that break the area that's blocked to go through The Portal that takes you back to Goro's Lair in The Wu Shi Academy.
I remember going back after getting all 7 abilities so that I can get that movie clip icon that's at the beginning of the game.

yes there is a way,right before the portal to outworld from the wu-shi academy it takes you back to shang tsungs palace by the bridge with 2 masked guards
