Help! Soul Tombs!

Okay, I'm not very good at mk..but i still love it. Anyway, I'm stuck battling the guy with swords in his hands that you meet after Shang Tsung in the soul tombs. Every time I am told to IMPAIL HIM... I try but can't! This is so frusterating!! Can anyone please tell me how to do it?! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure to impale on Xbox is the black button. On PS2 that would be the R2 button. Just pick up one of the swords, walk next to him and press black or R2. You have to do this twice to beat him.
