Hara Kiri's are like Fatalities you perform on yourself. Whenever you lose a match and you hear them words, "Finish Him/Her!" you are given a chance to finish yourself, rather then get humiliated by your opponent's Fatality, whatever that might be.

In Japanese it's something like "Belly cut", but Kenshi is the only fighter who's Hara-Kiri matches this. So yeah, they are basically honorable suicides.

Yeah, and the others are mostly unrealistic like Hotaru's for example.
