"The profile 'my name here' is damaged and can no longer be used. Press the X button to remove this profile from your kollection, or press the Triangle button to return to the main menu."
There doesn't seem to be a way around this, so it looks like I'll have to start over.
Man wtf? This is disappointing. 
At least I want to know how it could've happened so it doesn't happen again.

I have not had a problem like this with my Unchained.
Perhaps your Memory Stick Duo is corrupted somehow, or your UMD is dirty or scratched.
Never touch the disc inside the protective case.
Can't really help you more, this problem is new to me, sorry.

this happended to me about a month ago i had to restart my profile again and my PSP was dead (i then decided to operate on it). It wouldnt load and it corrupted my file.
if your psp is not dead you just turned the game of whilst it was loading or saving and have corrupted it. you will have to start a new save.
