I can't move in Konquest

I beat Deadly Alliance and just started playing Deception. I played through some of the Konquest yesterday and then saved it. When I get back in now I can punch, get to the map and move around the items I have, but I can't actually walk or look around while in the game. All I can do in talk to people that happen to walk by me or punch.
I tried making a new character and have the same problem with him. The 1 on 1 fighting works fine, but I can't play Konquest anymore, which is really bad because I want to unlock the characters and costumes.
I'm using the PS2 version. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Delet memorycard, or buy a "official" sony memorycard and try again.

maybe you should try the gamecube version.. if that would help.
