Another odd thing is that Shujinko seems to always train for exactly five years, yet ages about 10-20 years. He starts out as a young adult (about 18) and finishes at the age of about 60, yet only ages a good 25 years.

Relly? I never notice that. It's probablly glitch in the game.

There's no actual encave for the Shirai-Ryu Clan, however there is a camp in Eartrealm that has members of the Shirai-Ryu.
Go to G-8 and the camp fire there, speak to some woman, fight Scorpion, get mask, return mask to the Lin Kuei

It's more of a plot hole than a glitch, but call it what you will.
