Actually in real life it would make hitting them in the chest more sence.
Some of the characters are from the Shaolin right? E.G. Kung Lao Lui Kang etc.
The shaolin temples have masters that can be hit in the balls a number of times with out getting any pain or damge. This is because they know how to make theire nuts go back into their body during a fight. Hard to understand? Then go on wiki or something.

Sub Zero's throw sucks in MKD and MKA. My favorite throw was Sub Zero's Ice Slide throw in MKDA. His Ice Slide throw move was awesome!
