Okay, why the hell was Shujinko chosen to be the champion of the Elder Gods? But back to topic: Jinko wasn't an old man when he was chosen to be the EG champ. Jinko got older while travelling in the realms by searching for the kamidogu.

Actually, Shujinko never was the Elder Gods' champion. That was just a ruse by Damashi, a.k.a. Onaga. And he copies other people's moves because that was the power Damashi gave him.
