Ladies & Gentlemen, the HOTARU FAN CLUB finally has opened his portal. I welcome everybody who has an affinity to the MK fighter Hotaru or just doesn't hate him. But don't get scared, haters! You can confess your sins and get converted...
However, everyone who is joining this club will get a donut 4 free... well, not really. But if you decide to become a holy member, your soul will find it's salvation! Furthermore, you'll get MY Blessing! So join!

Look. Hotaru isn't Mortal Kombat material. He doesn't fit in well and was pretty much the peak of it's lameness. Play Mortal Kombat 1-4. See what I mean? Back then the story was richer and overall the series was better than it is now. Hotaru was created as a filler in Shujinko's journey just to have an extra character along with Dairou, Darrius and Havik, they were rushed too. They were all created just to make a few new characters for the new Mortal Kombat game.
Other than this, the thread is more of a personal threat to the I hate Hotaru club community rather than a club itself.

I know what you're talking about. The story was in fact much darker and more original than it's today. Hotaru was really created to appear as a new chara and therefore doesn't fit to 100% in the mk-universe, especially with his impressive "holy knight" - look, but nevertheless he is in my opinion a sucessful creation of the mk-staff. Hotaru appears as somebody whos atttitude is limited in following the rules blindly in accompany with totally intolerance against different-minded souls and that's the point which differentiates him from the others. His narrow-mindness makes him unique. Furthermore,despite of having the shortest combos ever, he has some pretty interesting style in Ba Shan Fan & Pi-Gua. His special attack Lava Burst in combination with Grasshoppper is tremendous. I think I'm pretty good with Hotaru, I remember all of his combos...  If you master him you can really do some damage.
And Finally you made me really like him, like I said it before.
However, I'm at the moment really a Hotaru fan and I look forward to everyone who is joining my club. Long live Hotaru!!!

You got that right. I think future MK characters should be created by inspiration from real clothing, like classic MK. Designs like Shang Tsung's new look however can stay. Oh yeah. The bosses get designed by using clay too.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to join. I'm glad we understand eachother's points of view, but I still prefer a darker MK. Hotaru doesn't play a large roll anyway, so I see no point in becoming a fan unless he is in future games and has a larger roll and slight personality change.
