You know what? Maybe it's not the first time anyone asks this question so I apologize...
BUT I just can't get out of my mind that there are SHAO KAHN & GORO as special characters on the GC! That's the definition of INJUSTICE! I mean, why are the GC players allowed to be pleased with the two & the PS and XBOX owners must be satisfied without any boni-charas! How could Midway do that to us? If I really think about it, the fact just freaks me out.
Why not creating special charas exclusive for each of the three systems? Maybe... I don't know... Kung Lao & Reptile for XBOX and ... Kitana & Jax for PS2??? That's the way the guys did it for SoulCaliburII, you know.
Just let me hear what you've got say about this if there is anybody alive on these boards...! Free your mind!

The decision to put Shao Kahn and Goro in the Gamecube version was probably made to make it a more appealing buy. The Gamecube version came out much later than the others so it needed something to make it unique and desirable to get the attention of the consumer and retailers since the game already existed on other platforms. Just my thoughts there. Either way the game has been out for so long why are you complaining now?

Those characters were also added into the NGC version to make up for the lack of online play.

I hadn't the opportunity to complain in former times. I got MKD a few days before X-mas '06 and after registrating at midway boards late in December I was not able joining the boards another time for some unknown reason. However, I was asking myself the whole time why they put Goro&Shao only in the GC-version... What you've mentioned, seem right to me, but you said these are just your thoughts... any official statements about from Midway?

I totally agree with u man. When I found out about this I was outraged. Why? What possible reason does Ed Boon have to give GC the better version of Deception over PS2 and X-Box? Plus we may have missed some of the best fatalities to come out of an MK game. Go on you tub and take a look at the fatalities those two had in deception.

Here's the official story:
Deadly Alliance sold poorly on Gamecube so they werent going to release Deception for Nintendo. But Nintendo diehards really wanted it so they said, ok, and made it for the Gamecube after the other versions were released.
The inclusion of Goro and Shao Kahn was (IN ED BOON'S OWN WORDS) to make up for the fact that you werent able to play the Gamecube version online.. because (in MY own words) Nintendo are lame like that.
For the record, they also fixed a few gameplay issues like the overreach on Bo Rai Cho's staff, and Sub Zero's ability to spawn ice clones immediately after the old ones disappeared. But Shao Kahn is garbage anyway, worse than Armageddon. His throw does 5 damage.
Don't complain. You can't always get what you want. And this sort of thing happens all the time in games. And for greedy reasons, not out of the kindness of their heart like Midway did here.

I thank you for the answer. Nevertheless, I'm mad about not being able to play especially with Goro... ... are the fatalities of the two in fact so outstanding? Sorry, but I can't get over it. Not now.

That's a good question cause you notice how Khameleon is gonna be in MKA for the Wii version too. BUt then again, it wasn't for the PS2 or the Xbox at all? WHy does it seem that Nintendo always gets the better things for Mortal KOmbat?
