Shujinko definitely, when you play as him you actually care about his fate, the boy from Earthrealm who at one point even comes closer to his dream (competing in MK);

Somehow when you play as "Whoa Im almighty half-god guy awakened from long sleep, but even if I missed all MK-related stuff, I'll knock out anyone who I meet on my way" Taven, who doesnt knows places, people, events, even his mission, you are like "meh? Did I saw his face in The Suffering, or did Midway made good guy version of Jarek?"

And if someone thinks Shujinko is foolish for serving Damashi, then remember Taven's "Lord Shinnok!", lol.

Shujinko contains the combined might of Subzero, Scorpion, Ermac, Baraka, Mileena, Sindel, Nightwolf, Ashrah, Bo Rai Cho, Havik, Hotaru, and Li Mei. Taven's ass would be kicked back into his little cave shell egg thing.

I just grew on Shujinko a little more in MK:D. Taven is just too unoriginal IMO and never enjoyed his konquest being.
