Is there any way to back up all the progress, and characters I created to a USB device on the PS3? I can move the data to other internal memory cards, but I can not save it to an outside device.
I have already had a PS3 lock up on me and lost all my information and game saves, I would hate to have it happen again. Every other PS2 game has transferred with no complications.

That sounds like it could be a problem when I get my PS3.

Yeah it is a big problem seeing how I have no converter or PS2 memory cards anymore. I just figure there should be some way to convert the information to an outside source.

Hopefully a gaming guru can help me.

Will a ps2 memory card work on ps3, and do you have the 80 GB model?

If you are going to convert memory cards from a PS2 you have to buy an adapter. Then you can transfer PS1 and PS2 games to "internal memory cards" in your PS3. You then can insert a USB memory device and save them onto it. How ever MK Armageddon is the only game I have so far, that is "locked" and "copying is prohibited". I sold the adapter back, thinking I had no more use for PS2 memory cards. If I knew MK Armageddon would not let me copy to a USB device I would have saved the memory cards and the adapter. I would hate to have to buy it all again for 1 stupid game. How ever I would also hate to have to buy all the KAK junk again.

By the way I have the 20 GB Model.

Does MKA work on the 20GB model?

Yeah the game plays fine and saves fine, but it will not let me copy it to an outside source.

I've had that problem with MK Deadly Alliance copying from one memory card to another on Ps2, I'm paranoid about losing data so with all my important games (MK's) I back up a save file.

By any chance do you know how to Copy Armageddon or is it File Protected, I can't copy it because of this on my PS2 Memory Cards.

Other memory cards. And to respond to Dinobot, I made a backup of MKA on my memory card, so it should work.

I have a friend who copied my MKA save data to another memory card three times, but for some reason it later got corrupted every single time. Not sure why that kept happening.
