my idea on why armageddon ended that way.

well remember the items you get along the way that belong to some one like the "real" dragon medaloin, or ashrah's doll.
all these belonging to every fighter in mk taven being hit with the godly blast must of hit the said items and it flow to the owner. so collecting everyone stuff is a loop hole in argus plan to end mortal kombat.
argus: what the hell man i thought my play would work what went wrong
taven:well you see i kinda pick up a few things along the way and i think that might had a effect.
argus:  so your telling me that all this junk you collected some how prevented you from becoming a full god and channeled all of it to the fighter your mom and me were trying to stop!!!!
taven:yes
argus:the odds of that happening is unbelievable next your going to tell me daegon isn't dead

I think it should end with Daegon and Taven simultaneously slaying blaze, resulting in a third alternate outcome.

I like the reason Animereaper brought up. Its sounds plausible and what else were collecting those items for? Towards the story and in reality Taven would have those items with him all the way to the end. Great idea! Midway this boys good!!!

im wondering how can sub have the dragon medalion when taven with a fire ball attack...which 56% of mkcast can do could achieve it but not before waking frost from her slumber. what was going in subs mind when making the safe?
sub:i think since we are in the artic and surrounded by my men that can only use ice attacks im think the best way to keep my prize medalion from their hands especially frost if no when she wakes from her icy tomb I think it best to hide it here and place a ice lock that can only be open with fire ... so i need a lighter... CR@P well at least it safe.
man and I thought scorpion and his "the crow" loop hole was bad.

ed boon: uhhh okay so see here the reason why every one got power up but taven and daegon is that the armor he got reflected and made a spectrum that spread across the battlefield causing everyone but taven and daegon to lvl up
john vogel: uhhh yeah wouldn't that just hit the temple unless taven refracted the powers on the steps so it would have a better view... uhh yeah aren't we suppose to end this part of the series?

No, there is no way that could be. A picture of Johnney cage or a piece of Steak isn't going to save somebody from something a God set up, such as a failsafe to prevent Armageddon.
I think the "3rd unforeseen outcome" was just merely just a crappy Deus Ex Machina Midway came up with at the last minute.
I mean, they didn't even give a reason or a logical explanation to why there was a 3rd outcome in the first place. It was either supposed to kill them, or null their powers.
The only logical thing I could come up with is that Blaze was intentionally misinformed about what would happen by Argus or Delia, so he would tell Taven and/or Daegon that, and it would take the race more seriously I suppose....

Maybe if the item's collected weren't things like meat's steak and Sindel's brush, for example, but things like ashrah's voodoo doll could have some effect on the outcome of armageddon.

uhh the event was predicted to happen and it is a Deus Ex Machina midway pulled. well delia never predicted taven to collect anything but a destructable sword and armor not a collection of mortal kombat items tmk would enjoy. i know he would buy johnny cage autograph so he could place it next to his ashrah doll he got from ebay.

If the event was predicted to happen, I'm still right anyway, because that goes back to what I said about Delia and Argus misinforming Blaze about the result of his defeat.
I'm sure she saw him collecting items, if she could predict Armageddon, she can predict that.
