Scorpion’s Deception Card and Sub Zero
|
In the Mortal Kombat Bios, It says Sub Zero is one of Scorpion’s enemies. This does not make cense to me. In Mortal Kombat 2 Scorpion swore to protect Sub Zero to atone for killing his older brother in Mortal Kombat 1. In UMK3 it says scorpion worked for Shao Kahn until he found out Sub Zero was one of the “chosen ones”, then he remembered his oath and turned on Shao Kahn. Then all this stuff went down in Mortal Kombat 4, but after Quan Chi reveled he killed Scorpion’s family and clan, then that let sub zero off the hook.
We know Sub Zero’s older brother died, joined the Brotherhood of the Shadow and became Noob.
So how is Sub Zero and enemy of Scorpion?

The most of the character biographies are not canon so it explains this mostly. Also Midway happens to change the story all the time.
But it would have been cooler though if Sub-Zero and Scorpion were friends. They would have been a ninja pair just like Smoke and Noob.

I think it's simply a referrence to MK 1 and the other Sub-Zero, the older brother. Scorpion is no longer an enemy of Sub-Zero's, in fact, they are probably more of "friends" than compared to Noob and Sub-Zero, who are brothers. Also, the Shirai Ryu's rivalry with the Lin Kuei ended when the former grandmaster was killed by Sektor. The new Lin Kuei, led by Sub-Zero, only shares the same name as the old Lin Kuei, not enemies.
I think this topic is also posted in the wrong section of this site.

They are the greatest rivalry in the game, that is why they are always fighting each other.
Even if in MK2 they're "partners", Scorpion's primary target has always been to avenge his family and clan, even if this means fighting the new Sub-Zero he has swore to protect.
In MK4 ending, Scorpion does not kill Sub-Zero: he says "By DEFEATING you SZ, I have avenged the death of my family and clan. Now my soul can finally rest"
Than, when Quan Chi appears, he becomes the new nemesis of Scorpion. But When Scorpion is decepted by the elder Gods, he sides with the forces of darkness, thus he has to fight agains the forces of light, and Sub-Zero is part of them. The choice of his foe in the battle by the Pyramid was simple...

Yeah it is rather confusing... Like someone above said most of the bios arent canon
