Not the same fighting styles but they should keep the classic special moves of each character.

They should each have their own "style" of fighting but make it a loose and fluid. i.e Tekken, Virtua Fighter or Soul Calibur. I hope you understand.

Agreed, for instance, we shouldn't be subjected to the frightening sight of Sub-Zero trying to fight in the Crane fighting style

There are some styles in MkA that don't fully fit the characters. For instance Kenpo on Sektor, Yuan Yang (mispelled) on Kira etc. So I think it'd be best if everyone had their own unique fighting style. I surely wouldn't like to see Sonya fighting with Sumo

Good point.
For example...Kobra which in my opinion is more of a Taekwondo type fighter uses Kickboxing in MKA. Johnny Cage which is a character based on Van Damme should use Kickboxing or Shotokan Karate not Shorin Ryu.
And I'm not sure about Jax using Muay Thai either. I know he was created to be a Muay Thai fighter but if you analyze his way of fighting you will see that he doesn't fight Muay Thai. He does not use his knees or his elbows, his legs are almost useless and all his special moves are based on his arms. I think he is more of a Western Boxing fighter than a Muay Thai one.
So, I must rectify what I said earlier. I think it'd be better if each fighter keep their own fighting style throughout the games.

kick boxing did fit Kobra in my opinion, I agree Johnny should have karate.
His arms are ritually moving like a muay thai boxer.
I just want every character to be unique and don't depend on an existing fighting style, It could ressemble but just don't name it. This will allow for more innuitive fighting styles like Lui using chains in a kombo, Í'm also not sure about that style switch thing just one with lot's of original combo's.
Character personalities and body features can be adjusted into the fighting style just like the chains and mechanic arms

It does seem a little imposible that everyone in MK could have learned and mastered so many fighting styles and not be like really old. Raiden I could understand but what about people like Johnny Gayge, Sonya, or Jax? The same moves would be a little blanded too if constantly used though.

What about a "style select" mode? After you choose your fighter you can choose their weopon and thier style seperately!

Thats thinking there, give this person a raise. Someone on the boards(can't remember) mentioned that the MK characters should be given statistics like strength, defense, speed ect... If we can integrate the idea of Style select and Weapon select into character statistics, you would have a pretty solid game. Good Job again EJAdams.
