Midway has always released bios for every character, directly explaining why he is where he is and what his goal is. You should understand that to many long time fans of the series, them expecting us to piece together a storyline is an insult. They left storyline unexplained leaving us to wonder how many characters returned seemingly from the dead. With many of those, characters dying off in MKA...
For you this may be no big deal, but to some of us, this is devastating news and is unacceptable. I am a very big fan of the series, so you should be able to understand mine, and others, disappointment in Midway

Hardcore is right. One little misstep and suddenly everything good in the franchise is wisked away because a lack of cliche anime storyline.

No, a true mk fan would want a true last gen game that is complete. A game that says to the fans "thank you" not "screw you".

How old are you Animereaper? It is comment's like this that have me question your maturity. Do you come on these forums to criticize and flame people? I am a dedicated fan of the MK series. Unlike you, I give a damn about the storyline. Do you notice how many people disagree with you with almost everything you post? think about it... 
If you ask how many people think that MKA doesn't need the bios, there will be more who will disagree with you than those who will agree.
I will compliment you on one thing though, that flaming was the most coherent thing I've heard you say yet

One wonders, how can they move forward on the next game at full steam if there is not a complete storyline for the current one?
Do they even know what is going on in MKA?
Surely they must, or the story in the next one will be utterly screwed. And if they do know, then why can they not tell us?
Now, there are many here who have suggested that Midway outsource the bio-writing task to the fans. Unfortunately, that plan has a fatal flaw. If the fans submit bios, then Midway would have to read all of the entries, sift out all of the garbage ones, pick the ones that fit together in terms of character relationships, and edit them. That would be a much more time- and money-consuming process than if the MK team simply wrote the bios themselves. Not to mention the legal ramifications: giving credit to writers, compensation, contractual agreements, etc.
In short, the MK team ought to give their writers an assignment to take home. They can write the bios in their spare time, at an easy but still reasonable pace.

... due to the lack of patience i had to resort to saying that line. because well
to me posting a thread on making a another petition and knowing there already one is to me childish.
had the bio thread destickie, being told by another mod that there won't be any bios, and have the mod that hand feed us the crud which most scream in glee when read the first time told us there won't be any bios. you still deny it and bite that hand that feeds. I'm tired of showing people what's happening to this board. with the stupid repetition none originality that lives in it. and don't go saying that it hard to create unique topics if you think that's the only reason to be here then leave your not contributing to this site nor company.
if you think a bunch of paragraphs is more important than game production then leave and go play an rpg you'll get a kick out of that. i predict some one is going to read half of this say i should go and leave since it took over by biofaping yahoo's and they really like the bios but since they don't talk about them it ironic isn't it a forum deperate for something but don't talk about it. i didn't see a single ... oh my im repeating my self hehe.

To be honest folks, and believe me when I say this is coming from a hardcore MK fan, I'm not really that upset they have canceled the remaining bios.
What I'm REALLY upset about is the total cluster f*%ck that is the Armageddon storyline.
If you think back to how rich, deep and well written the storyline of the first three MK games were, I can almost weep when I read the ridiculously ludicrous endings that were thrown together...er..."written" for the so called conclusion to one of my favorite franchises I have followed religiously through the years.
And in closing, to say they can't finish the bios because of the need to focus their resources on other things is somewhat understandable.
However, what is NOT understandable is how they could release a game that is not completed in the first place.
Do think they could release Medal Gear Solid or Halo 3 with half the story released in small bits and pieces at a time through a website, six to eight months after the games release? Oh, and by the way were going to get half way through and just say screw it...
Oh well, time to break out the SNES and remember the good old days.

Focusing resources usually implies "time and money". Which I question, how much time and money would it take to write the bios? I think Midway is simply making excuses.
