copied from another thread, but it might get buried there, and I typed a lot, so maybe it needs to be easier to find.

How do people intercept so easily? I know Gregg explained it like a MILLION times but I still can't get the hang of it.

Everytime I try it, the opposing QB SHOOTS it at the receiver instead of lofting it so I don't have a chance to react.

Does anyone have a Youtube video or two on how that's done?

P.S.-I know, I'm thick. But all I have to bring to the table is an alright running game, that's about it. I need something to feel good about on defense, and if I can't catch the QB, I'm screwed 85% of the time.

happy
and i dont mind saying it a million and one times:)

HOW TO INTERCEPT.

I am no master interceptor, like the good man tmax9 ( he is REALLY GOOD ) or a couple of others, but I do OK.

First, how many different defense setups do you try?
DO YOU UNDERSTAND "MAN TO MAN" versus "ZONE coverage",
I am not being a smartass, but some people dont.
Learn both types, and before the play, pull the trigger to pull back the view to see the whole field.
Look at who, where and how your men are covering.

btw-
I stopped posting video on to Youtube, because of my videos of my Quarterback Killas showing how to do it, MY videos told the QB KILLA story, and then players adapted to them, and then the QB killas stopped being effective. QB killing stopped working online, and no one else is posting video like that, so until they do, neither will I. PS - btw - the QB evade is very effective at stopping QB killing online,,, learn to do the QB evade, it stops the QB killas. THE TRICK IS DONT PLAN TO USE THE QB EVADE, ONLY USE IT WHEN YOU HAVE TO.

SOOOoooo.,.. how many defense set up do you use?

IF, as you say when you can not get to the QB, you are screwed.....
FIRST- try getting to the QB, and if he is a passer, and it is working FOR THEM, then
SECOND-TRY ANOTHER DEFENSE, Stop going after the QB, try sitting back in a zone cover, and let em throw, then you will catch it. HIT THE "Y" BUTTON ( the intercept button ).

**BUT - Beware a good player will adapt to whatever you do, but most people do not. Most players (WHO DONT READ THIS; ) will do what they do, and they dont change, BUT against good players if you drop into zone, they will run, if you come at the QB, they will pass.. so ...just fyi : )

so anyway....if you rush the QB to killem,,,and miss, and the pass is caught,,,NEXT TIME,,,do a differnt defense.

PRACITCE INTERCEPTING- go play against the Arizona Outlaws.....DO NOT KILL THE QB, let him pass....and... here is a trick of the day...... pick a good pass coverage defense, and then select Sands on your defense and PRACTICE JUST KNOCKING TINA MAAS on her ass, as soon as she leave the line. It is funny how the CPU ( and people, and sometimesme too ) will still throw to where the reciever was supposed to be.

You will find people throw a lot the same recieiver, so line up and find thier fav reciever, and whne he leaves the line, knock the reciver over as he leave the line.
As far as other tips, I WILL NOT specify specific defense setups you should use YOU need to try different set ups,,, use zone,,,use man to man...UNDERSTAND WHAT THOSE TERMS MEAN.

WATCH THE REPLAY AGAINST THE CPU, WHAT HAPPENED?

BEFORE THE PLAY STARTS, pull the trigger
LOOK AT WHO IS COVERING WHAT. Are you in man to man ,,,or zone?

About intercpting- WHEN the QB throws the ball IF you have the correct coverage ( AND DONT PICK GOAL LINE EVRYTIME ; ), AND you have fast safteys and corners, THEN you will have a defense player by the reciver ( unless he is on the ground, cuz you knocked him over ; )

WATCH THE REPLAY AGAINST THE CPU, WHAT HAPPENED?

WHEN YOUR DEFENSIVE MEN ARE NEXT TO THE RECEVIERS, AND THE BALL IS AIR, THEN you hit the player change button, LOOK AT WHICH player is now selected ... WHO IS IT???...... then, when the ball is coming, hit the Y BUTTON ...... It all happens very fast, you must "see it". RELAX, JUST DO IT.

WATCH THE REPLAY AGAINST THE CPU, WHAT HAPPENED?

IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHO MIGHT CATCH IT,,,,,KNOCK THEM OVER BEFORE IT IS AN ISSUE, and then the other team will have to go to a running game.

Which side is the QB rolling to?....that is a clue.
Which reciever caught it before,,,that is a clue.

WATCH THE REPLAY AGAINST THE CPU, WHAT HAPPENED?

BE ADAPTIVE,,, the best players in this game can adapt to what ever you do,,,be that guy... IT IS LIKE LIFE, be adaptive to what is coming at you, NEVER QUIT, ADAPT, LEARN, GET BETTER, HELP OTHERS, DONT BRAG, PLAY WITH HONOR, and remember who helped you out....

Also a lil tip i will give you Ryu is this is learn how to read the offense by their formations. for example QB/WR playbooks in balance formation they have 2 WRs and 2 TE's. if i look at that 9 out of ten thats gonna be a pass no really good running plays in that. if you know what formation they are in and know the plays really well you can guess what they're running. also this is me really ryu and i know i sound cocky so excuse me for sounding cocky but im really good at reading plays on this game. do you have xbox live? if so whats your gt so we can practice some.

freekin awesome.
It is my pleasure to help make it all better, and if I can inspire others to pitch in and help too ...WoW..
....can you imagine how elevated this game would become if EVERYONE pushed the envelope and shared REAL ideas, tips and secrets? Can you imagine if it was all out in the open, if people talked about REAL BLITZ game strategies as opposed to all this day dreaming BS about uniform colors or favorite captains etc etc etc blah blah blah?

so anyway .... This is funny ..... I share ideas to spark ideas, and to maybe spark ideas to me too, that is my objective ..... so today I used my own idea from above and went to practice looking at all the defenses, and I was studying the plays. This is what I suggested, so I practiced what I preached .... and viola... I saw some new things.

It is unreal how deep and long this video game really is....
after all this time I am seeing new things, and when I take this stuff online, it is working ..... really well.

I have been rebuilding teams since the football season started again, and now I have a collection. Each new team is better than before. Today I was playing my own teams against myself, because facts be known the CPU teams are not real competition. My custom teams have the 110 stamina on top of my good training.

It was very interesting to observe which plays the computer called for MY team both on offense and defense. It was interesting see what the computer thought was best. It was interesting for me to speculate what plays the computer would call. It was interesting to see if I could stop my own teams on offense while I played defense, it was VERY INTERESTING. I saw the computer call plays which I did not even recognize, UNTIL I watched the replay,, and looked,, and analyzed.....thne I went to the play book, and I learned some new VERY EFFECTIVE OFFENSEIVE PLAYS.....WWOOOOOHHOOOO!!

anyway .... what goes around comes around.

IT IS GREAT to watch all those replays, it is a very good way to learn this game.

yea man thats a great tip i never watched a single replay in this game. maybe i need 2 to see how i messed up somewhere when i played. also ryu another tip i will give ya is if you play someone for the first time stay in zone until you know how they play. that will help with ints if they throw and its an ok run defense
