It's a simple question that came up in another thread.
I am actually curious about it myself.
A phantom hit is a dirty hit to one of your players that you never see on camera.
Normally, the player taking the hit is one of your background players.
You find out about the hit when you check your team's status.
If you ever had a season, where you expected but did not receive a 7-7-7...it's almost a lock that you took a dirty hit
Ssomewhere, one of your players took a hit that you were or are unaware of.
I am not ashamed to say that I can not go through an entire season without taking a phantom hit.
So my question again is, can you actually perform an entire season without a hit to your players?
Keep in mind that this would of course imply that you do not reset any game throughout the entire season.

Are you referring to the injury that your rookie gets when you play against the Nightmare? That injury is unavoidable, unless you do the workaround that has been discussed on these boards (punting on every offensive down after the 1st quarter).

No, not the scripted injury that you take as part of the story.
I'm talking about injuries that your background players may take outside of the field of play.
It seems to happen more on defense than offense.
Does that make sense?

I think that not taking a dirty hit is impossible. There are just too many ways for it to happy, a fumble recovery on an onside kick and they try to dirty hit, often you cannot evade. I think it is also impossible to avoid an injury all the way through, not counting the injury to your rook. It may be possible if you restart, but I doubt it is if you don't restart, just for the reason that you do not have time to evade the dirty hit on a recovery or interception.

I'm trying a few new things and allowing a few classic no-no's in my new season.
It's in an effort to dispel a few myths in the game.
One is the allowance of dirty hits in the game.
The other is the use of steroids in a specific fashion, such as to increase player stats.
Right now, in my new season, I've allowed dirty hits on my players.
Would you believe it, almost everyone is either on schedule, or above average in stats.
I do, however, have two players that are below average.
The 1st is Kilgore, my rookie.
The 2nd is my 3rd LB, I forget his name.
The 3rd LB is in the same spot that lawless would be in.
My Vet is Kinsman, who is way above average at the point in the season that I am.
I am in game1 of div2 right now, for the record.
Now I know some of you will say I'm behind on those players because of dirty hits.
But, guess what?
Neither one of the 2 players took dirty hits.
This would imply I'm training them slightly wrong.
I will review this more closely in the players menu.
I may tweak this after game1, such as to raise their stats a tad faster.
I have now applied the Ultranol trick to those two players that are behind.
I applied it in their 2nd week of training.
My impression is, if this works as I expect it to, is that it should kick start their stats.
Their stats will remain after the 3rd training cycle, which should help them.
The Ultranol will wear off after the 1st week of their next training cycle.
If I catch up on stats, this will prove one of my theories, and I should be able to maintain from there on out.
Now, before you think me a fool.
Keep in mind; I am doing this only in Div3! LOL
But, if it works, I will test it again in Div2, and so on.
So far, the experiment has been interesting.
I will update you as results develop.

UPDATE:
Okay, the Ultranol worked.
I have only used this trick once.
My player's stats have raised.
Right now I am in div1 game 1.
Here is my breakdown:
Nobody on my team is lower than a C-.
24 Players
1 A+ (Mass)
(would have been two A+'s but I saved a game where Kinsman took a hit in the 4th qtr of a 3rd tr. cycle)
1 A (Kinsman)
4 A-
6 B+
No B's at all
3 B-
3 C+
6 C-
My overall rating currently is a 555.
I have taken dirty hits on Moxley (the worst one to take a dirty hit on).
I have also taken dirty hits on both my rook and vet (kilgore and kinsman).
Right now, if I understand correctly, my team could go either way.
If I played as well as some of the more experienced players here, I could probably still get the 7-7-7, even though I saved a bad game.
The more logical players would argue that I can not get the 7-7-7 because of the bad game.
I am forced to agree with that, because there are some key plays that I can not do.
I will explain these plays in a moment.
Out of curiousity, however, I played through into game 3 of div1 but did not save it.
By div1 game3, my team raised to 655, which puts them on track for any combination less than a 7-7-7.
At least, I believe that, based on the above, I can not see a 7-7-7 with my skill level of play.
KEY PLAYS
At this point I need at least 2-3 games where I perform the deep bomb icon/clash farm cheat.
Problem is, I can't do it (believe me I try). lol
Another thing that I need to do is beat up at least two teams with the shoulder plow or stiff arm.
I have gotten much better at this and can now do it with some consistency.
The last thing that I need to work on is having at least 3-4 brawls a game, and winning with 7-9 clash icons.
I can win the brawls, but I can't do it consistently.
I also can not get more than 7 icons.
7 icons is my high, but my average is 5-6.
PURCHASES
Right now I am not near my Xbox360.
I forgot to make notes on my purchases.
I know I have some things, but I am not sure if I purchased everything or only partials.
If I did not purchase everything, I do not have the gloves and sleeves equipment items.
On training, I know that I need all of the level 3 trainings (I haven't purchased any).
I could do the Ultranol trick again.
But, at this point, I want to see how trainings and equipment play into the experiment.
Does anybody else find this interesting or helpful.
I could stop if many of you find this to be like spamming the forum.
I'm just trying the help the people like myself (noobs with some abilities). lol

After all that, that's all you want to know.
LOL
It took me about 15 minutes to a half an hour.
I normally wouldn't bother with Ultranol, but like I said before...this season is all about experimentation and either prooving or disprooving myths about the game.

That is impossible for anyone to go a whole season without one injury. If you playing Blitz: The League for the PS2 than your rookie will get injuried for a couple of games. If you are playing it for the Xbox, etc. other than the PS2, I don't have an answer. So my answer is no in the PS2 but, everything else I don't know.

I do apologize, but I do it because a lot of you more experienced players are really vague in your answers.
It's not a criticism, just a fact.
As an example, look at all the threads and convo's about the deep bomb pass. There have been literally hundreds of threads on that..and nobody has duplicated that trick any easier.
my hopes are that I fully explain myself, so that the noobs like myself get exactly what I am talking about and have no question how to perform any feat i'm talking about.
My threads would probably seem a little shorter if I didn't apply any formatting. but I try to keep it in these small boxes when someone opens up their web browser.
The funny part is that few of you who are really good at describing answers have been the most helpful, like greggNKC, MMERC, Nightmare_Lord, and especially wcfcrazyperson23 with his 8-8-8 write up.
Again, sorry,lol
