Man, you just hit a sore note there. 
Don't feel bad, because these days it's hard all over for a lot of people. 
Hey, but be happy...at least you know you have some people here

Everyone I know is complaining in one way or another about $$.
Personally, I'm still pissed that Microsoft is charging a $100 bucks
for their stupid wireless adapter.I understand it could be
used on a PC too, but what if the only thing running an M$
OS in your home was the stupid Xbox360?
Where is the value then?
I have my 360 wired to a panel that is about 50 feet away.
Oh man, do I get eyes cut at me when I have to plug it up for online play.
And yeah, before anyone else chimes in (which you are still welcomed to do),
I know that some people have tested other adapters for use.
From what I have seen and read, however, they have not been
as reliable nor as limited in size as the M$ wireless
adapter. It's almost like caving in to a designer creation...which I personally hate to do.

I_am_Mike_mexico, hehehe...I just ran across something funny as hell this past weekend. Hopefully, you get a kick out of this.
I was at a buddies house who doesn't have internet and when I go over to play what I thought was some local graw2 with him, he fires up his 360 and proceeds to log into his XBL acct.
I didn't think about what he was doing at first, and then it hit me! I asked him about him being on XBL and it turned out that he had purchased a used wireless adapter and was pirating his neighbors signal at night for XBL when his neighbor was at work! LOL
There is one downfall - in graw2 he is unable to chat on the game channel over the headset. I think it may be because he prolly needs to alter settings on the router which was at least passworded. LOL
Weird, because he can private chat, just not channel chat.
anyways, just thought it was kinda' funny.
