He has an interesting part in the storyline, but he actually is just a neutral guy who isn't really cool fighting-wise. Darrius (Lot of potential, he is extremely powerful) Kai (He's really cool. He was a very strong and cool character, lots of people liked him. But today, he is forgotten. I personally enjoy playing with Nightwolf. He has a few really cool moves, and he is one of the two people who can survive Sareena's Knife Throw massacre) Stryker (Again, Stryker lacks popularity due to other characters that have similiar Movesets/Specials [Example: Jax has a gun too], but other than that Stryker is actually an excellent fighter, he really has a lot of potential. If you learn to use him... You'll eventually notice that he is a beast) Characters that people think are underrated but they probably aren't: (this time not in alphabetical order) Sareena: She is NOT underrated. She's basically an almost god-tier character in MKA. Her specials are too quick, not to mention her knives, the fastest projectile in MK History. Some people are able to constantly throw knives by mastering the rotation of the analog stick. Then it ends there. You die (Unless you're Jade, or maybe Nightwolf.). I personally would call her overpowered. Rain: No, he's not underrated at all. He has a lot of fans too, a lot more than you think. I personally don't like Rain, but lots of people on the boards do. One thing I like in him are his special moves OFC, water based. Smoke: Someone actually said Smoke? Congratulations, you've just won the Foolish Clown award, autographed by Ed Boon and Barack Obama, along with Mr Pennywise. Smoke being underrated? No. He's an elite cyborg. EVERYONE likes him. Especially user Smoke285275275724orwhatnumberisbehindhisname. There are more Smoke fans than Mileena fans (afaik), and his Fanality is close to the epicness of Ermac's. Fujin: Close one. REALLY close one. Fujin WAS underrated. But now, due to the fact that MK9, attack of the Toasty, Spinerip and Headeat fatalities has a storyline that everyone wants to make up with their own fantasies, the popular fact is that Raiden goes exiled and his replacement is Fujin. Yeah, that made him rated A (average), by just replacing Raiden. If you mention his moves, he is a combo beast, especially the ?Tornado Slam? special move, when he grabs the enemy with a tornado and smacks them to the ground, with a similiar effect to Ermac's Tele-Slam. And Motaro: He is not underrated. He is just messed up. He was a "horse" back then, ppl thought he was cool. Now, he's a freaking Goat, and ppl despise him. Other than that, he has lots of fans.
