On August 19, 2006, Baraka_is_the_best posted:The select screen follows a pattern. It's my desktop, so I know it like the back of my hand. The pattern is as follows, and concerns the rows of the screen: NINJAS OTHER MALES OTHER MALES LEAD MALES FEMALES FEMALES MONSTERS MAIN BOSSES REASON #1: Motaro and Moloch, two previous sub-bosses in MK3-MKT and MKDA respectively, are in the MONSTERS row with Sheeva, Baraka, Havik, and Drahmin. At the same time, Meat is in the MAIN BOSSES row with Shao Kahn, Goro, Kintaro, Onaga, and Blaze. Why would Meat be put there over the other sub-bosses be put in another row? REASON #2: Meat was only a skin in MK4. He had none of his own moves. Since he is locked on the select screen, we have no idea what he's capable of until we play him in arcade mode. REASON #3: Meat, like Blaze, has little storyline. We know nothing about Meat, and Blaze's storyline was only fully known until the E3 presentation of MKU REASON #4: In a popular MK parody comic strip floating around the internet, there is a character called Meat-Blaze. Meat-Blaze came into existance when Blaze attacked Meat and the two became one. Maybe someone at Midway is showing props. REASON #5: Midway has never done anything to release who the sub-boss is completely. Similarly, little information concerning Meat has been leaked to the public. REASON #6: Meat is locked on the select screen. Why would he be locked and not someone else who was the sub-boss? Thx to rjm54 for Reason 6. POSSIBLE REASON #7: Meat is not liked well by fans, and if it turns out he's the sub-boss and is very powerful, then fans will never expect it. Thx to Audioslave-53 for this idea.
